Bespoke Order FAQs

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK WITH YOU?

Every bespoke order begins with a conversation about what your vision is - what you would like in regards to insect species/insect shape and how you would like it displayed (frame/dome size). You are more than welcome to provide any references, photos and sketches to help me understand your vision. Quite often I will sit with this information for a couple of days to let the ideas come. I will then create a sketch of the design along with gathering materials, putting together a colour palette and notes on construction (composition, colour and size) before photographing them all and sending them off to you for your approval. As your piece is created I will send through messages and photographs giving you updates on where it is up to in the creation process.

CAN I REQUEST AN INSECT I HAVEN’T SEEN YOU MAKE BEFORE?

Absolutely! There are so many insect shapes that I am yet to explore - the possibilities are endless!

IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY INSECTS I CAN INCLUDE, OR HOW MANY PIECES I CAN ORDER?

Not at all! It should be noted though that the more insects/pieces the higher the price will be.

 HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Bespoke work is fit into an overall production schedule, and a custom order can take anywhere from 4 weeks to several months depending on the size and details as well as the time of year and current workload - some times of the year are much busier than others so it is always best to get in contact with me in advance so there is enough time to make sure that all the details are spot on and all materials needed can be ordered such as the fabrics, beads, crystals and custom frame. Rush orders typically can’t be accommodated, but please feel free to check first - schedules can change all the time! Additional cost must then be added on for shipping - depending on its destination - and any taxes, customs and duties required for purchases outside of Australia.

 HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

Price varies from piece to piece - it depends on the complexity of your piece, the time it takes to create your piece and its design. Factors include whether your piece is is comprised of a single insect or multiple insects, the size and complexity of the insect/insects design, construction hours along with the size of the frame/dome to display your piece and the cost of materials.

The cost of your piece will be shared with you during the planning stage and before any approval is made. Shipping and any applicable taxes/customs duties and fees will be in addition to the cost of your piece.
